The Way I See It
Last week we were invited to have lunch at the Pleasanton Elementary School as VIP guests. Parent volunteer Kittie King Aldakkour organizes these visits as rewards for the students who participate in the Box
Tops for Education program.
For every 10 Box Top coupons turned in, the student’s name goes in for a drawing to eat on the stage with the VIP guests. These coupons are worth 10 cents each and go towards items, equipment, improvements needed at the campus.
David Wickersham, our production manager, and I sat through four waves of third and fourth graders. They asked questions, answered questions and had their photo taken. Yes, it will be featured in our newspaper. During a break, Kittie explained that there are more ways to earn credits for the school. Box Tops aren’t only on cereal boxes. They are on so many other snack and food products.
I went online and signed up for the Pleasanton Elementary campus (as a thank you!)
They have a goal set for $4,000 this year and
Credits are also given from national chains. If you order through the internet with participating vendors, you can earn eBox Tops online. Right now their earnings are at $1,476. Compared to last years’s total of $307, I do believe they are on their way to reaching their goal.
There are coupon incentives - savings offered on items you use that have the Box Top coupons. By visiting the click & earn area you can watch a short video and answer questions for coupons
The way I see it, available funds are always short with any school in any district. Isn’t this a great way to help raise funds for students without it costing anything?
Check online at www.boxtops4education.com. You can register for the school campus of your choice and help them earn credits for most anything they need. So, come on, sign up or at least start clipping those box tops, it’s more than breakfast!
