Get your calendar out
Sandy Housh

Hope you've got your calendars ready! The Bible studies start at First Baptist, Pleasanton this week. Kathy Balkum starts the Anne Graham Lotz study this Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.

This one is called "Pursuing More of Jesus". The Thursday morning class will begin at 10:00 a.m. It is a study on the book of James, and is called "James, Mercy Triumphs". I'm planning to go to this one and I surely hope I can.

On Tuesday, January 17, is the CAM volunteer appreciation dinner. Each church sends all their volunteers and we all bring a dish and have a glorious "Pot Luck" surprise!! Don't forget to let all those involved in this very important project know about it.

The Verdi Community Center, Inc. will have its first meeting of this year on Thursday , January 26, at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Center on FM-1784. This will give you a chance to look over all the new people who have moved in and want to help us make some improvements to our community.

Speaking about improving our community, folks, be sure you are registered to vote in these important elections we have coming up. You probably know several of our local folks who are running. I always vote for each individual candidate and don't vote the "Straight Party" on any of them. You won't be bothered with choices like that if you aren't even registered. You get to make exactly no choices if you can't vote!!

By the way, evangelist David Ring will be speaking at Trinity Baptist on Monday evening, January 30. Many were sorry that he couldn't make it when he was scheduled to come a few months ago and I promised that I'd let you know as soon as I heard.
