Is anyone shocked honestly?
I have to ask one honest question to area sports fans: Is anyone honestly shocked at what happened to the Dallas Cowboys? I have to admit, I was not even nervous as I sat through the final minutes of last Sunday night’s Dallas Cowboy game. I knew some way, some how they would find a way to blow it. Little did I know, it would remind me of last week’s game to the “T”.
While we cannot put the blame on just one person for this week’s loss, at the end of the night I blame the team as a whole. Last week, everyone had the chance to put the blame on Coach Jason Garrett for what he did when he called that crazy time out. A great coach will always tell you, it should never come down to one call or one play. A great team takes care of business early and often. Let’s just hope the Cowboys stumble into the playoffs.
Texans rolling- The Houston Texans are playoff bound for the first time in the history of their program. This comes, riding the back of their third string QB. Yes, a rookie third string QB. The Cowboys cannot win a close game against the Giants with a Veteran squad, but the Texans beat a talented Bengals squad with a Rookie. Congrats to all of Houston Texan Nation. You have at least caught my eye, and I will surely cheer you on in the playoffs.
Spurs- Is anyone ready for the NBA to begin? I can say, I am ready to hear the “GO-SPURS-GO” cheer. I am hoping I will be lucky enough to attend as many games this year as I did. I am hoping that TJ Ford fits in great with the Spurs. It is great to see a University of Texas Longhorn come to town!
Shopping is fun- Does any other man in this area, just love a full day of shopping with their significant other? Did you sense any sarcasm in that statement? I was a good boy this past Sunday, I shopped until we dropped most of the day and only complained a time or two, which is pretty good for me. Needless to say, that was “her” shopping. I have yet to begin. I always love to wait until the final week, which I am doing once again.
Big Bucks- Has anyone seen any big bucks in the Brush Country? I have a coaching buddy who has a big ranch out in West Texas. I am hoping me and a Bow Hunting buddy who serves on the school board with me will be able to get a day or two, kill a few deer and dodge the ghosts in the West Texas Mountains.
I better run. Press night has concluded for me. Let me know what you think. Questions,. Concerns, thoughts? esmith@pleasantonexpress.com
