Pleasanton Sub-Varsity Football Report

Freshmen Football- This past Thursday night the LaVernia Bears traveled to Pleasanton to meet up with the Pleasanton Eagles. It was a scoreless game at the half with both teams taking a little more time to get going. The Bears opened up the second half scoring but the Eagle D stiffened by stopping the twopoint conversion attempt. Pleasanton answered back with a punt return by Josh Lopez for a touchdown. The extra point was good making the score 7-6 Eagles. LaVernia answered back with another score and again the Eagle defense stopped the twopoint attempt. The Eagle offense then took over dominating the Bears on a 5:30 touchdown scoring drive in which no passes were thrown. The drive was an 80-yard drive that really showed the Eagles determination. Grant Jackson capped off the drive with a short touchdown run, shortly after converting on a fourth down just seconds before. The two point conversion failed making the score 13-12 Eagles. Jace Llamas ended the Bears hopes with his 6th and final interception of the year. Crockett Mokry, Mark Banda, Manny Leija, Colton Knapp, and Misael Moreno really dominated the game up front opening holes for the offense the entire night.

The 9th Grade Eagles ended district play 4-1 with a share of the district title. The overall record ended up being 6-3. The coaching staff is really proud of these young men. We look forward to seeing these young men continue to grow.

JV Eagles- The JV Eagles had their final game Thursday against La Vernia. The Eagles started off strong scoring on their first drive and playing solid defense the first half.
