Emilio Esquivel, Jr., age 94, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 in Pleasanton. Emilio was born November 5, 1917. He is a life long resident of Christine and a member of Christine First Baptist Church. Emilio was a single man who cared for his parents and siblings all his life. He was a farmer and rancher, as well as an avid storyteller and delighted in telling others about his life’s adventures. Emilio is survived by his brothers Jesse Esquivel and wife Ricarda of Christine, Fred R. Esquivel and wife Mary of San Antonio and his sisters Otilla Contreras of Houston, Diamantina Pacheco of Pleasanton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Emilio is preceded in death by his parents Emilio and Tomasita Esquivel and his brothers and sisters Jose A. Esquivel, George Esquivel, Calistro Esquivel, Josephine Martinez, Esther Pacheco, Adela Villareal and Carolina Casas. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 8 - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. The funeral service will follow the time of visitation at 2 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home (Pleasanton). Interment will follow at the Christine City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Joe Ed Pacheco, Albert Villareal, Ben Pacheco, Murray Esquivel, George Esquivel Jr. and David Esquivel.
