•Local Longhorn group meets Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. (nonsmoking, open discussion) at All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Pleasanton, Hwy. 97 West, next to Whiffletree’s.

September 29 & October 3

•Current classes at The Refuge: Connect Monday from 1-2 p.m. Parenting Thursdays at 5 p.m. Parenting Boys Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. They will be closed on September 28. Sunshine to Shadows on Thursdays from 1-2:30 p.m.

September 29 & October 4

•Moms Day Out at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Main St. in Pleasanton, every Tuesday & Thursday. Gives moms that much needed time to run errands or just relax, while children socialize, play & learn with other children their age in a loving environment, Time has changed to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is for ages 2-4. •Jourdanton 4-H Food Drive on Friday, September 30 at football game, Indians vs. Trojans. Non-perishable food & cash donations will be accepted at stadium entrance, starting at 6 p.m.

October 1

•Fundraiser for Ruben Santos Jr. on Sat., Oct. 1 Carne guisada plate sale at 11 a.m. Music starts at 6 p.m. at Poteet Lions Club, live music!

October 1 & 4

•Pleasanton Group Alcoholics Anonymous group meets every Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. (open discussion, non-smoking) and Saturday at 10 a.m. (non-smoking, open discussion). Meetings at 914 Ohio St. in Pleasanton.

October 2

•SPJST Lodge 202, Jourdanton meeting on Sunday, October 2 at 2 p.m. at Jourdanton Community Center. Call Bettie, 830-281-8246.

•Brush Country Tea Party regular meeting on Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. with speaker Toni Anne Dashiell, at American Legion Hall in Jourdanton.

•Jourdanton Alcoholic Anonymous group meets each Monday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1608 Campbell Ave. in Jourdanton. If you want to drink, that’s your business. If you want to stop drinking, they have an answer. Help is free. For details call John at 769- 4392.

•Veterans Peer to Peer Support Group meets every other Tuesday at McBee’s BBQ, 1303 Zanderson Ave. in Jourdanton, from 6-8 p.m. Next meeting is October 4. Dinner provided to all veterans attending. •Pleasanton Market Days, sponsored by Pleasanton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Oct. 15, noon-11:30 p.m. in downtown Pleasanton, Main Street. Live music, arts & crafts booths, petting zoo & more. Free admission.
