Gaitan qualifies for Boston Marathon

Charlotte native taps in top time at Crossroads Marathon.

Novel Gaitan of Charlotte tapped in his best time of two hours, 52 minutes and 32 seconds to win the Crossroads Marathon in Odessa on October 3.

The time was enough to qualify Gaitan into the 114th Boston Marathon on April 19, 2010.

Gaitan’s next race will be in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in San Antonio on November 15.

His training regimen includes running the back roads of Charlotte and with the 70-80 miles per week, that training paid off.

Gaitan, 40, has qualified for the Boston Marathon twice before but has yet to participate in the annual run.
