Jourdanton CC teams advance to regionals

17 runners to compete at Region IV meet in San Antonio.

JOURDANTON – 17 Jourdanton cross country runners qualified for the Region IV cross country meet this Saturday.

The Jourdanton varsity girls team finished in second place overall in the District 31-2A meet with 63 points. Three Rivers finished in first place with 60 points.

The varsity boys finished in second place behind Dilley who won the championship with 58 points.
The varsity girls team qualifying for regionals are Courtney Mason, Katie Schuchart, Kayla Muckleroy, Ariana Foster, Allison Baker, Kaitlin Ramos, Jamie Cooper, Linzey Weden, Gabrielle Gonzalez and Irene Garcia.

Mason finished in eighth place overall and Muckleroy finished in ninth place overall.

The varsity boys team qualifying is Xavier Badillo, Stefan Campos, Preston Weden, Tyler Korus, Dominique Lopez, Jack Riggs and Matthew Faulkner.

Xavier Badillo finished in fifth place overall and Campos finished in 10th place overall.

The JV girls finished in first place overall with 23 points and includes members Rafaelle Izidro, Amantha Hons, Genilee Molina, Jaylin Stacy and Tammy Torres.

The Region IV meet will be held at Brooks City Base in San Antonio on Saturday. The 2A varsity girls will run at 12 p.m. and the 2A varsity boys will run at 12:20 p.m.
