There were many winners at Pleasanton Market Days on Main Street on October 17, sponsored by the Pleasanton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (PHCC). There were the Auto Acers, the Best Bikers and the Chihuahua Champs Racers.

PHCC Member Landa Diaz presented the trophy awards to the following winners:

Auto Acer Awards:

1. Mayor’s Choice Award went to Javen Aguero of Poteet who treated us to a look at a 1982 Cutlass like we had never seen before.

2. Most Likely to Be Pulled Over Award was bestowed on Justin Griego also from Poteet whose 1982 Cutlass made observers indeed want to Pull it Over and take it home.

3. Most Likely to Catch Fire Award was caught by Jess Gutierrez of Jourdanton who dazzled us with a hot 1931 Plymouth Coupe, 3/window, which flamed up amazed onlookers.

Best Bikers Awards:

1. Mayor’s Choice Award was taken by Mad Mike of Pleasanton with his maddening 1980 Kew Turbo 1428 Top Gas.

2. Chamber’s Choice Award was swooped up by Lorraine Gonzales of Pleasanton with her flashy Trike 1973 Volk.

Chihuahua Champs Racers Awards:

1. First Place Award was grabbed by “Chocolet” (owned by Amanda Montgomery of Pleasanton) who was not only fast, but cuddly as only a Chihuahua can be.

2. Second Place Award went to “Peanut” (owned by Margaret Rodriguez of Pleasanton) whose prowess on the race track did not take away from being cute as a peanut.

3. Third Place Award was won by “Darsey” (owned by Rosa Coffey of Pleasanton) whose speed matched her precious charm.

The Hispanic Chamber congratulates all the winners and thanks all participants. PHCC believes that the biggest winner was the Pleasanton community who basked in a free event which provided something for all the family and which promoted Pleasanton downtown.
