A night of festivities is being planned, brought to you by Trinity Baptist Church of Pleasanton and Hosanna.

Come and enjoy free hot dogs and free candy for all. There will also be hamburgers, menudo, chili, funnel cakes and a chili cook-off. Other activities will include a balloon castle, hayride and dunking booth.

Trick or Treat at Argent Court

Children of Atascosa County and their parents are invited to trick-or-treat in safety at Argent Court Assisted Living on Saturday, October 31, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Residents will be passing out candy throughout Argent Court.

Because the safety and happiness of both children and residents is an important concern, every child must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or adult guardian and no adult should be supervising more than two children.

First Baptist Church-Pleasanton

First Baptist Church Community Fall Festival is coming up quick on Saturday, October 31.

The free event will be held at the Pleasanton River Park this year from 6-9 pm. We will be having free fajitas, hotdogs, games, candy and entertainment for the whole family. We will also have some great giveaways, such as an IPOD shuffle and gift cards. This will be a great time for the whole family and we will have lots of candy and prizes to give away to the kids and parents.

Fall Fest at FBC-Poteet

First Baptist Church in Poteet invites everyone to attend their free Fall Festival on Saturday, October 31, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

A safe alternative to trick-or-treating will be offered. There will be lots of games for children, candy, prizes and food. Call the church office at 742-3856 for more information.
Carnival at Showbarn

Come join the Girl Scouts at the Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 31, from 3-7 p.m. at the Atascoa County Showbarn. This year’s new time gives everyone plenty of time to come have fun at the annual carnival and costume contest and then still go out trick-or-treating that evening.

They still have their regular hay rides, moon bounce, catch a goldfish by hand, face painting, free fingerprinting, football toss, bean bag toss, tick tac toe, fortune telling and lots of good food.

There will be Frito pie, nachos, barbecue on a bun, sausage wraps, pickles and the great cotton candy made by the church. The Girl Scouts have sponsored the carnival for 16 years to provide a safe alternative on Halloween night. This is the only fund-raiser the Girl Scouts have to provide programs for the girls throughout the year Please come out to support them as well as many other local non-profit organizations. They hope the new time will help the parents do all they want to do this year for their little ghosts and goblins on Halloween and have a safe, enjoyable time.

Cowboy Fellowship

There will be a Fall Festival on Saturday, October 31 at the Jourdanton City Park. Partnering with Cowboy Fellowship of Atascosa County for this year’s festival activities are Community Bible Chapel in Pleasanton and Jourdanton First Baptist Church.

The fun begins at 6 p.m. at the park and will include a variety of activity booths. The food, candy and entertainment will be provided free of charge.
