Pleasanton earns fourth straight playoff appearance with win over Medina Valley.

The Pleasanton Lady Eagles grinded out a four-game win over the Medina Valley Lady Panthers on Friday.

The victory earned the team its fourth straight playoff appearance under Head Coach Gabriel Aguirre.

Pleasanton (20-12, 6-4 in Dist. 29-4A) stand ½ game ahead of Medina Valley in third place in the league standings as of Monday. Four teams qualify for the playoffs in class 4A.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Uvalde last night (results late) and close out the season schedule at Southside on Friday at 5 p.m. The district schedule for the rest of the teams ends October 27 and the playoffs begin on November 2 or 3.

Pleasanton fell behind in the first game against Medina Valley before taking the next three in a 24-26, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19 win on Friday at the PISD Sports Complex.

Shelby Heffernan finished with 23 digs and 15 assists in the win. Caitlin Jandt added 12 kills, four blocks and one ace to lead up front. Molly Ellis finished with 20 digs defensively and Paige Poth added nine kills.

On Tuesday, October 13, Pleasanton defeated Floresville in three games 25-22, 25-16, 25-19.

Poth led offensively with 10 kills and Ellis added nine kills and 10 digs. Heffernan finished with 12 assists and 11 digs. Ashtian Guerra led in assists with 14.
