Flores Mr. Benito O. “Chuca” Flores, Jr., a lifelong resident of Floresville, passed away in Floresville on Friday, July 29, 2005 at the age of 65 years, 10 months and one day. Mr. Flores was born in Floresville on September 28, 1939, the son of Benito O. Flores, Sr. and Lucia Orosco Flores, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Herlinda Martinez. Mr. Flores was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was the owner of Chuca's Bar in Floresville for 27 years. Visitation was held at 5 p.m. Monday, August 1 with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville. Interment will follow at a later date. Survivors include his daughter Sarah Soto and husband Leonard of Fort Hood; son Ronnie Ray Flores of Floresville; sisters Alice Gonzales and husband Raymond of Leming, Eloisa Barrera and husband Gilbert of San Antonio and Lillie Garcia and husband Valentin of Floresville; brother Joe Flores and wife Anita of Pleasanton; five grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and friends. Arrangements were under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville. Clifton The “Country Gentleman” Vernon Clifton at the age of 75, went on ahead of us but will always be a part of us. He was born on August 10, 1930 and left us on Thursday, August 11, 2005, although we wanted him to stay with us, the Lord needed him more at this time. He is survived by his wife, Katheryn Clifton of San Antonio; daughters Robbie Harlan of Houston, Chris Hollier and husband Richard of Channelview, Connie Stevens and husband David of Highlands, Joyce Aguilar and husband Gilberto of San Antonio, Annette Santana and husband David of Omaha, Nebraska, Judy Mahula and husband Mike of Pleasanton, Barbara Smallwood and husband Billy of Mico and sons Michael Clifton and wife Tina of Adkins, Vernon Clifton, Jr. of Pleasanton, Ed Ottinger and wife Kathy of Pleasanton, Mike Ottinger and wife Susan of Seguin, Bruce Ottinger and wife Cindy of New Braunfels, Brian Stewart of Marquez, Bobby Ottinger and wife Paula of San Antonio. His brother, Paul Clifton of San Antonio. He was very well blessed with all of his many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, he always had time for them. His nieces and nephews. All of his many friends and VFW buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Esther Clifton, his son Mitchell Clifton and wife Shellie, their two sons Larry and Jason, grandson Jacob Aguilar and his sisters Dorothy Woodlee and Virginia Smith. Pallbearers are Michael Clifton, Vernon Clifton, Jr., Ed Ottinger, Mike Ottinger, Bruce Ottinger, Gilberto Aguilar, Donald Harlan, and Joshua Williamson. Officiated by the Reverend Gary Jones of the Pleasanton Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2005. The funeral service was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton at 10 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2005. Interment was at Jourdanton City Cemetery in Jourdanton. Conrado, an oil field worker, was born November 26, 1938 in Willacy County. He is preceded in death by his parents Porfirio and Carmen (Sanchez) Galvan, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his sister Juanita Galvan. He is survived by his wife Guadalupe Galvan of Jourdanton; son Roy Galvan and wife Rachel of Charlotte; daughter Anna Calvillo of Jourdanton; sisters Oralia Martinez of Stacton, California, Ninfa Guerrero of Harlingen, Florencia Guerrero of Raymondville and Carmen Castillo and husband Pablo and Norma Galvan also of Raymondville; brothers Roberto Galvan of San Perlitas, Jesus Galvan of Elsa, Porfirio Galvan, Jr. and wife Teresa of Pleasanton and Manuel Galvan of Jourdanton; grandchildren Amy Galvan and Abel Calvillo, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Sunday, August 14, 2005 from 2-9 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. Services were held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte at 9 a.m. with interment following at Chilipitin Cemetery in Charlotte. Mr. Gibson, a truck driver, was born December 29, 1942 in Poteet to Roxie (Martin) Gibson and James Gibson. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Gail Evans of Rockport; brothers David Gibson of Corpus Christi and James Gibson of Yancey; sisters Pat Brown of Jourdanton and Mary Kucera of Alvin and grandson Eric Madison. Visitation was held Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 2-8 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Jourdanton. Carlos was born December 11, 1951 in Monterey, Mexico. He is survived by his wife Jeannette Leal of Poteet; sons Carlos Leal and wife Adrianna, Robert Leal and wife Rachel of San Antonio and Roland Leal and wife Penelope also of San Antonio; daughters Suzette Lopez of San Antonio, Neannette C. Orlando Cabrera of Augusta, Georgia, Yvette Campos of San Antonio and Jeannette Sanchez of Oxnard, California; brothers Ramiro Leal, Armando Leal and Enrique Leal all of San Antonio; sisters Rosie Martinez, Margarita Riveria, Blanca Perez, Alice Hernandez, Concepcion Leal and Alma Leal all of San Antonio. Guzman of Pleasanton passed away, Friday, August 12, 2005 at the age of 22. Patrick was born December 25, 1982 in Victoria. He is survived by his parents Andres A. Guzman and Irma (Zamora) Guzman of Pleasanton; brothers Chris Guzman, Andy Guzman, Jr. and Sebastian Guzman all of Pleasanton; sisters Monica Ann Guzman and Jessica Guzman also of Pleasanton. Ty was born Nov. 6, 1964 in Big Spring, to Nettie and John S. Kubin. He was a graduate of UT Arlington. He was an artist, herpetologist, and owner of Kubin Roofing Services. He is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Patrick Kubin and niece Mallori Malane Hartman. Survivors: Parents, Ret. Col. John Stanley and Nettie Fay Kubin of San Antonio, brother, Earl S. Kubin and wife, Dawn; sisters, Tammy F. Jupe and husband, Danny of Pleasanton, Kelly A. Ford and husband, Terry; brothers, John P. Kubin of Arlington, Troy J.
